_Digital Commitment

[08.07.2009]

The latest figures for the introduction of digital projection systems could not be more revealing.
The twelfth report published by AIMC (association for research into communication media), in conjunction with their associates, Discine and Movierecord, confirms marked growth in the field of digital exhibition and the speed of this transition.

The numbers could not be more enlightening. In search of the best quality and commitment to the future, 10.7% of all cinemas in Spain now have digital projection, and 10.2% are equipped for 3D Digital. On a global scale, the objective that has been set is to have 125,000 screens equipped with digital projection systems.

In a constant effort to be at the forefront of the digital vanguard, ApuntoLapospo offers all the services required and the most advanced methods to acquire a digital master (DCP), from advice and new project consultations to distribution, and we meet all the requirements set out by the DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives).

The headaches of costly photochemical developing and copying processes, loss of quality when transferring between formats, complex audio synchronization, and the limited scale of classic colour correction become a thing of the past when you plan a digital project, saving you time for your artistic decisions.

Factors such as colour correction and mastering in JPEG2000, simple day-to-day checking during production, incorporation of effects, and the safety of copies are not only advantageous on a technical/artistic level but also signify important savings of both time and money.

Lapospo has worked with projects such as “Coraline (3D)”,
strengthening our commitment to expanding digital projection in Latin America.
Furthermore, we are the leading company for Digital 3D, working on projects like “Magic Journey to Africa”, the first Spanish movie in stereoscopic 3D.
We also became pioneers in Europe when we created the 3D teaser for “Segon Origen”, which was presented, by its director, Bigas Luna, at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
